Our goal at Atlantic Hearing Care is to provide the best possible hearing care based upon your individual needs. We provide a comprehensive array of services related to prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of hearing impairment.

Our Mission

Who We Are


Joan McCormack, Au.D.

Dr. McCormack founded Atlantic Hearing Care upon her extensive experience from over 30 years of providing and managing hearing healthcare services.   Previous positions include Regional Manager for HearUSA,  Director of Communication Disorders at New England Rehabilitation Hospital and Director of Audiology at Union Hospital. Dr. McCormack received her Doctorate in Audiology from Salus University in 2004, her M.A. in Audiology from the University of Connecticut in 1980 and her B.S. in Speech and Hearing from Northeastern University in 1978.  Dr. McCormack is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice Audiology, certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in Audiology and a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.  She is also Board Certified in Audiology. She is active in professional and community groups as a Board Member of the Massachusetts Academy of Audiology and President of the Swampscott Rotary Club (2010-1011). 

Wheaton Hinchion, Au.D. joined Atlantic Hearing Care in 2010 bringing her extensive experience from North Shore Children's Hospital and Clark School for the Deaf.  Dr. Hinchion is currently the inpatient audiologist at Children's Hospital in Boston. She is available on selected Saturdays for evaluations, consultations and hearing aid services.

Karen Tracchia joined Atlantic Hearing Care in 2007 as Patient Coordinator, bringing many years of experience in local medical offices.  In addition to reception and front desk responsibilities Karen is highly organized and sends your recall cards, birthday cards and patient newsletters.  

Peg Simpson joined Atlantic Hearing Care in 2010 as our afternoon Receptionist, filling in for Karen to ensure we always have a friendly face to greet you and make appointments.  Peg is well known in the community as a member of many organizations and from her many years in Human Resources at Union Hospital.
